Controller
Location: Dundalk, MD (Fully Onsite)
Salary: $125,000 - $140,000 + Bonus + Comprehensive Benefits
About the Opportunity
A growing, private equity-backed organization is seeking a Controller to lead an established accounting team and oversee the financial operations of a high-volume business unit. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on accounting leader who enjoys partnering with operations, developing staff, and driving accurate financial reporting in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and financial controls
- Manage the month-end close process and ensure timely, accurate reporting
- Prepare and review financial statements and management reports
- Partner with operational leaders to support business performance
- Analyze financial data and identify opportunities for process improvement
- Maintain compliance with accounting policies and procedures
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 5+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience
- Strong operational accounting background in a transaction-heavy environment
- Experience managing accounting teams and developing staff
- Hands-on leadership style with strong analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills and ability to partner with non-financial stakeholders
- Experience in manufacturing, construction, distribution, automotive, transportation, or similar industries strongly preferred
